The Birdhouse: The shelter shown here was the center of contemplation in this work from 2004 through 2018. The picture to the left shows it under construction in a temporary shop in Louisiana, and the picture on the right shows it in the woods at the foot of the San Juan mountains in Colorado. If you look closely at the StoryWeave logo, you will see a sketch of the Birdhouse frame.

The birdhouse had curved inner walls make from heart-pine flooring salvaged from an old general store. The walls were perfect for leaning back and telling stories. The roof portion lifted up so you could stand up inside and look all around the birdhouse.
