As usual, life took a different turn. Even as I entered MSW studies I became strongly interested in a question that had gently nagged me for years:
Why do physics and religion tell such different stories about us and this universe we are born into?
That question was amplified by a series of dreams before entering the MSW program in which four questions emerged about the nature of this universe, and about our stories of science and religion.
2004 - 2006 Master of Social Work (MSW) Degree
In 2004 I entered the Master of Social Work (MSW) program at LSU and was awarded the degree in 2006. My plan at the time was to put technical passion behind me for retirement work that is of more direct help to people. The program requires two years of intern work, so I spent the first year working with mental-health counselors in a state correctional facility, and the second year working in an adult day care center for seniors living with working families but unable to safely function alone during the day. I expected to do retirement work helping families in that situation.
